What is Hull Anode Replacement?

KCC carries out underwater replacement of spent sacrificial anodes on vessel hulls, bilge keels, and appendages — maintaining cathodic protection without the need for dry-docking. All works are carried out by our qualified dive team using appropriate underwater fixings.

What's Included

Inspection of all hull anodes to assess consumption and remaining service life
Removal of spent anodes
Preparation of anode mounting surfaces
Installation of new zinc or aluminium anodes with appropriate fixings
Post-installation inspection and documentation

Why This Matters

Sacrificial anodes protect the steel hull from corrosion — but only while they have remaining mass. Regular inspection and replacement of spent anodes ensures continuous cathodic protection and prevents hull corrosion.
