Pile Anode Installation — Cathodic Protection for Marine Structures

What is Sacrificial Anode Installation (Piles)?

KCC installs sacrificial anodes on marine piles and structures to provide cathodic protection in the submerged zone. Anode systems are designed to provide the required protection current density across the full submerged surface area of the structure.

What's Included

  • CP design review and anode specification
  • Diver-assisted installation of anodes at designed locations
  • Welding or bolting of anode brackets to pile surface
  • Confirmation of electrical continuity between anodes and pile
  • Post-installation CP potential survey to confirm protection level

Why This Matters

Cathodic protection is the most effective method for controlling corrosion of steel marine piles in the submerged zone. Correctly designed and installed anode systems provide continuous protection throughout the design life of the structure.
