KCC applies petrolatum tape wrapping systems to marine pile surfaces in the tidal and splash zones to provide a durable, long-life corrosion barrier. Petrolatum tape systems are a proven, cost-effective method for protecting piles in the most aggressive corrosion zone.

What We Do

Surface preparation of pile surface in tidal zone
Application of primer coat to prepared surface
Wrapping of petrolatum tape to pile surface with correct overlap
Application of outer protection wrap over petrolatum tape
Post-application inspection to confirm coverage and adhesion

Why It Matters

The tidal and splash zone is the most aggressive corrosion zone for marine piles — subject to alternating wet and dry conditions, oxygen availability, and wave action. Petrolatum tape provides a proven, durable barrier that significantly extends pile service life.
