KCC provides periodic inspection and maintenance of mooring systems for marinas, yacht clubs, commercial operators, and private vessel owners in Hong Kong waters. Mooring systems are subject to continuous loading, tidal movement, and marine corrosion — regular inspection is essential to identify worn or corroded components before they fail.
KCC's commercial divers inspect all underwater mooring components — ground chain, riser chain, swivels, shackles, sinker blocks, and seabed anchors — and provide a written condition report with photographs. Worn or corroded components are replaced in-situ by divers, and the system is re-tested before the vessel is returned to the mooring.
Compliance: All diving operations are conducted under IMCA D 045 and HSE Diving at Work Regulations 1997. Mooring inspection reports are prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Hong Kong Marine Department and relevant classification society guidelines.
Mooring system failures can result in vessel loss, collision damage, and significant liability for the mooring owner. Regular diver inspection and maintenance by KCC ensures that mooring systems remain in safe working condition — protecting vessels, reducing insurance risk, and meeting Hong Kong Marine Department requirements.
