Artificial Reef Installation — Creating New Marine Habitats

What is Artificial Reef Structure Installation?

KCC carries out underwater placement and positioning of artificial reef units, concrete structures, and purpose-built habitat modules to enhance marine biodiversity. Works are carried out from barge using crane placement with diver guidance and positioning.

What's Included

  • Pre-installation seabed survey to confirm site suitability
  • Crane placement of reef units from barge with diver guidance
  • Diver inspection to confirm correct placement and stability
  • GPS recording of all unit positions
  • Post-installation survey report

Why This Matters

Artificial reefs provide new habitat for marine species and can significantly enhance biodiversity in areas where natural reef habitat is limited. KCC's installation capability ensures units are correctly placed and stable — providing the habitat function they are designed to deliver.
